Benjamin Christopher "Ben" Poole is the son of Michael and Suzanne Poole. He was born 28 June 1998. He has a younger sister, Isabella from 2000. He lives in Oxford.

In 2014 he took his GCSEs from Winchester College with A*A*A*A*A*A*AAA in English language (A*), English lit (A), French (A), Latin (A*), Maths (A*), Physics (A*), Chemistry (A*), Biology (A) and Music (A*).
In September 2015, he applied to university at Oxford for Mathematics and Statistics (D2D2D3 offer), at Imperial for Mathematics with Statistics for Finance (D2D2D3) offer, to Bristol for Mathematics with Statistics (D2D3D3 offer), at Warwick for Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics (D2D3D3 offer), Surrey for Mathematics with Statistics (D3D3D3 offer). He firmed Oxford and put Warwick as his insurance choice.
In 2016, he took his Pre-U at Winchester College in Maths (D1), Further Maths (D2), Economics (D2) and Physics (D2) and was accepted into Oxford.

In October 2016, he started Oxford University, Merton College, where he will study Mathematics and Statistics. In his first year he studies Algebra, Analysis, Probability and stastictics, Geometry and dynamics, Multivariable calculus and mathematical modelling.
